Fís is an Irish textbook for first-year students, but also covers the complete Junior Certificate Ordinary Level syllabus.

At the end of first year, Higher Level students will move on to Fis Eile, while Ordinary Level students will continue with Fis.

Fis covers all aspects of the syllabus: oral, aural, reading comprehension and written language. The book features short stories, poems, articles, games, songs, exercises, translations and plenty of sample essays, postcards and so on. Grammar is covered in every chapter to the standard that is needed for Ordinary Level. Fis features some listening comprehension exercises, for which there is a student's CD.
